oh mi gawd. I have my window open so I can hear everything my neighbors are doing outside and my neighbor down below me has opened and closed his sliding glass door 6 times. I am not kidding. I must be tired because I am getting annoyed. 6 times in like 5 minutes. What is he doing for goodness sakes? I think I need to go to bed...................

Raining in Austin!!

So it started raining on and off yesterday and we are all excited! We did not get a drop of rain in September and things were starting to get into Defcon 5 if you know what I mean. I was starting to feel bad if I brushed my teef for too long for goodness sake! Anywho, my windows are open and it is officially the middle of October and the end of 100 degrees weather! Yee ha! By the way, I finally started my Facebook page today so if you are reading this blahg you better sign me up as a friend! So far I only have the most basic info but I am sure I will build it up as time goes by. Which in my language means I will get around to it in 3-5 months! Ha! I still don't even have this blahg built up!

Today I had a moment where I was checking off the food delivery, making the soup of the day, anwering phone calls, fixing the fountain machine, translating between employees, and answering work emails. I was cutting veggies for the soup (corn chowder with potatoes and bacon and it was very good) when a calm spread over me and I realized that at that exact moment, I was happy and at peace. It felt good.

Still recovering

I am still recovering from the event that was last weekend. I cannot believe that Ackle was exactly 7 days ago! How did it go by so quickly? More importantly, how did this week go by so quickly? Things have been so hectic lately. I am very tired right now. I will say that I had a great weekend and it was great to see all my friends and listen to music outside and swim in freezing cold springs and then go back to listening to more music outside. I will write more later tomorrow.

Squirrel Cat

I have been sick all week and for the first time in the three years I have been with my current employer I called in sick! I slept most of the day Wednesday, Thursday and today and finally tonight I feel like I have turned a corner. But I Never get sick and have been feeling badly since Last Friday! Boy was it a doozie! First the fatigue for a couple of days. Then the sneezing and the coughing and the exhaustion and the throat ache and did I mention the fatigue? I am watching the news and they just had a segment about baby squirrels who were rescued from Ike and who they are nursing back to health. Apparently they are going to return the squirrels to Houston when conditions are back to normal. That is just crazy to me. I mean I am an animal Lover, but watching like the entire Austin ASPCA spend all their time and resources feeding these squirrels really just killed me. And it also reminded me of my little sister's cat in college. This cat was named Dante and was given to her by a sorority sister who had an allergic roomate. Anywho, this kitty was sooo cute and had the biggest, bushiest tail ever which of course prompted the Depp girls and my sister to nickname her the Squirrel Cat. She really did have a big ole tail. Squirrel Cat!

P.S.- if you like Radiohead (and honestly, who doesn't?) and you have not listened to In Rainbows from start to finish at least 10 times then I would Strongly urge you to do so. I honestly think it is one of the Best Records Ever. And, on top of it all, you can buy it at any price you want to on the internets!!! It is my Flavor of the Month and boy is it good! Get it!

ACL is approaching!

So the ACL festival, or as I like to call it- Ackle, is quickly approaching! I am very excited on account of the fact that Melissa and Charlie, my little sis, and my cousin are all coming in for the shows. It is going to be really fun! I am so excited! Last year's Ackle was really fun and the best part of it all will be to see all my good friends and family. I will actually try to get photos taken this year so I can put them up on my blog. And if any of you out there are thinking of coming in to Austin for the festivities, lemeno! All are welcome!
